Crossing the border

Hi

is it possible to drive from the South to the North as an independent day trip, or are there organised tours? We are staying in Ayia Napa but intend to hire a car and explore a bit and would love to visit Kyrenia in the north. Any info around this topic appreciated.

Hi there,

1] Organised tours exist yes.

2] It's possible for the humans. Most car rental agencies will not allow your car to make that border crossing, but there are a few exceptions. Search the forum for recent experiences.

All the best,

http://www.cyprus-car.com will happily let you take the car across, You will have to purchase additional Insurance at the border at 25 Euros, BUT !!!, You will only be covered 3rd Party whilst here in the North.
