Cyprus drilling for oil and gas

I have just been reading this article about Cyprus starting to drill for oil and gas and that Turkey are not amused and threating a confrontation.

This is the first I have heard of it and was wondering what is being said IN Cyprus itself.

Is it just the news people exaggerating as usual?

As you are aware the political situation all around the Med is very complex and there are many different viewpoints, an example of a Greek Cypriot view is at http://www.cyprus-mail.com/ and there are different views to be found from a wide range of other sources. News of this area is not widely reported in the UK media and I have found that http://english.aljazeera.net/ provides a different viewpoint. I hope that whatever the outcomes will be that they are for once resolved peacefully.

Not much has been reported here either!

I echo Fred's sentiments and hope a peaceful resolution is achieved.
