advice

hi all

we have decided to spend our summer holidays in Cyprus, we are looking at renting a private villa with pool.

We are 2 adults (in 40's) and 2 teenage boys (18 and 14)

We would like to be very close to the beach and restaurants/bars etc. Our youngest son has CP and cannot walk very far although can walk some distance (has had surgery in the USA and walking for the first time, but that's another story!). So if we are near to places we will not need to take a wheelchair out with us. We also are trying to avoid anywhere hilly.

We have never been to Cyprus before and need advice on an area to look for to suit our sons needs.

We don't want a night scene like Ayia Napa.

All advice is very much appreciated

thanks

Ann

The problem with a villa is you will find most of them are not very central to most things and you would probably need a car, your best bet would be a hotel/apartment in Pernera or Protaras as both are close to each other and fairly flat either that or the Nissi Beach area of Agia Napa as napa is not all party, party, party that's only a small area of it and Nissi Beach area is flat and handy for the beach and there are a few restaurants & bars within walking distance.

The other thing buses are very cheap and fairly frequent between all the above resorts

Hi Pernera would be ideal with villas located right in resort, you could try Destination .Cyprus website at www.destinationcyprus.net or for a wider choice you could try Holiday Lettings

We need to the villa to be around 200 meters or less to a few tarverna's etc. Not too fussed how near we are to the beach but would like a see views if possible.

Thanks for the suggestions x

Hi

We stayed in a villa in Pernera thru destinationcyprus, the villa itself was only minutes to the beach, restaurants, bars etc. Buses run into Protaras and taxis, so there is no need to walk. Pernera is quieter than Protaras but still plenty going on. The villa we stayed in had 3 bedrooms, pool, bbq etc. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again this year!

Zygi, in Cyprus's Larnaka district, might work for you also. It's a cute little fishing village on the sea, with many fish restaurants and tavernas in walking distance. I've seen some villas with pools posted in this area, so you might have a look.

Have a great holiday.
