Crossing from North to south

I am planning a trip to North Cyprus from the US (we are US citizens). Flying into Ercan is cheaper and more convenient that flying Larnaca. We plan to stay in Kyrenia. As US citizens, will we have any problem crossing south for a day trip. I know that the government of Cyprus does not consider Ercan a legal entry port. Will we as US citizens be treated any differently than EU citizens. We do not required a visa for either part of Cyprus. Thanks

Use the stuff from Avon. It really works. Mel Gibson used it while filming Braveheart.
