I think you are only allowed to bring on a bit but at the duty free it is the cheaper price.

Duty free at Ercan no longer cheaper than buying in town, Airport has been privatised and only one Duty free shop now.

Hi ttoli,

Have'nt been across since October and have heard about the Duty Free at Ercan being privatised...and only the one shop now!

Can you still buy Duty Free on arrival? And is Ercan still the cheapest Duty Free in Europe? One of the shops always have Raki on sale at 10TL a bottle....cheapest ever ever!

We are back in July, any other changes at Ercan?

Thanks,

Les.

Kibris

Yes you can still buy Duty Free upon arrival, between Immigration and Baggage collection.

Danny,

Cigarettes here in the shops start at 6TL (£2.15 ) for throat clearing Turkish brands, thru to 10 TL (£3.50) for premium brands like Dunhill. Although recognised brand names, the blend is slightly stronger than those that you buy in the UK.
