parking in kyrenia harbour area

Hi

I read a time out article and it said that the best place to go in Krenia harbour was the castle end. Which end is this and what is the parking like for it? Is it expensive, easy to find, do we need change up front etc etc. ????

The article said that the other end is full of bars, catering to russians and loud techno music etc.

We are taking my elderly relatives and just want peace and quiet, nice bit of fish, look at the harbour etc without too much hassle

Many thanks in advance

Loud Techno music??, I've lived here 8 years and never found this, you can find parking spots around the castle but the main car park is only a 3 minute walk away, flat fee of 3 TL ( £1), large, safe and secure, most cars left unlocked.

You can park in the road leading down to the castle if you can find a space and also at the top of the road to the side of the castle. This is free. As well as the main carpark that ttoli has mentioned there is also another small car park by St Andrew's Church which is also 3TL. There are no barriers or anything so I would imagine it is free at night. You will need to pay for this upfront.

As you drive into Kyrenia town centre you will come to a small roundabout if you go straight across this is the road that leads down to the castle. As you go down you will see St Andrew's Church on the right (it is only small) and opposite is the small car-park. You need to be careful when entering this carpark as cars sometimes fly out of the road which is just before it. If you go past it and bear right you will see the castle. You can park on the right-hand side or continue down the road which takes you down to the harbour.

The main carpark ttoli mentioned is just off the roundabout on the left (you would turn right at the roundabout). If you turn left at the roundabout you will be driving down the "high street" which is one-way. If you continue down this road and turn right as the road starts to go uphill you can drive along the seafront to the other end of the harbour. There is some parking here but it is usually busy so I would stick with the castle end.

Hi

We are a couple looking to travel to Kyrenia in mid September and we were wondering if you could suggest the best areas to stay in around Kyrenia and the harbour? Ideally we would like to stay in a villa a short drive form the harbour...

Thanks

Try looking at villas in Karakum, Ozankoy and Bellapais. All are approx 10 mins drive from central Kyrenia.
