charity shops

Hi

We are coming to Cyprus for two weeks next June, 1st week we are staying at Argaka, and the second week in Laneia. We like to read a lot on holiday and wondered if you can buy second hand English paperbacks in a charity shop or market. I suppose the big places near to us will be Paphos, Polis, and Limassol. Can any one help please.

There will definitely be some but I don;t live it those areas so can't tell you where to head for.

If you have a look on the Cyprus living web forum which has many local people in those areas as members someone there should be able to help you.

Hi

There is a shop along the harbour front in Paphos opposite the public swimming place and near to Bacchus restaurant which sells second hand books. The were charging 3 for 10eur or 3 eur each and had a very good selection. There is a board outside advertising the shop.

We are back there for xmas and shall be having a wander up to see what they have got.

Hope this helps.

There is a charity shop opposite st Pauls Pillar in Paphos, where I have bought books in the past. Also there is a boot fair sunday mornings at Timi ,near the airport.

There are lots and lots of second hand books for sale in Charity shops all over Paphos. The markets also have second hand book stalls. I haven't bought a "new" book in over 2 years. They usually sell for around €1.

Incidentally, magazines are very expensive in Cyprus, so bring them with you - and then I'd really appreciate it if you'd leave them at a charity shop (for me to buy!) before you go home!

Happy travels.

Thanks Kev - didn't know there was a Pizza Express in Latchi - must be new since last year. Pity really as Latchi will begin to look much more commercialised, although I know some people like that - but not Latchi please !!!
