Where to start?

We have decided to go to Cyprus next year. Unfortunately we have never visited before and have no idea where to go on the island. My husband is fussy and likes traditional English food while I don't want to go anywhere too commercialised. We have 2 young children but will be booking a villa. Any suggestions on a good location would be gratefully received. Thanks

Hi

Cyprus is a lovely place and I'm sure you will have a lovely time :)

Do you mind driving? There are plenty of villas on offer in lots of beautiful locations and within easy distance of a town/restaurants/supermarkets.

We stayed in a lovely villa in Chlorakas last year. Had it's own pool and a sunset view to die for.

You could try www.holidaylettings.co.uk or ownersdirect. That's where we found ours.

I think Aphrodite Hills is too remote. A self-contained, man-made 'village''. Much better to go for the real thing! There are no decent beaches for children near Aphrodite Hills. A car is essential or you're stuck out in the sticks.

I wouldn't choose to live there and certainly wouldn't select it as a holiday base.

The accommodation is generally good and If none of the rest matters, then go for it.

I wouldn't.

Just for the record, there are no private beaches in Cyprus. All are open to the public.
