Booking with Thomsons..with Jet2 as the carrier

Flying from Glasgow to Paphos in june and september.Have booked holiday through Thomsons but Jet 2 are the carrier.Spent an hour yesterday phoning Thomsons and Jet2 asking how to book seats together plus upgrading luggage allowance.Have to deal with Jet2 as they are the carrier but apparently Thomsons don't tell Jet 2 the names of those flying until about 2 days before flight goes.Jet 2 therefore cant change any of the details until they have this list of names.Seems an odd situation and wondered if anyone else had this experience doing this trip.

hi

You might as well have booked through Jet 2 and it would probably have been cheaper

We booked with first choice and are flying with thomson, booked extra luggage at the time of booking, but couldn't book our seats till we paid the balance, did this weeks ago, but only just managed to select our seats last night, and that was a pain.

For the last 8 or 9 years we have booked flights with Thomas cook, but they have changed their flight days so we have had to book with thomson, from Newcastle on a wednesday, as there saturday teatime prices were horrendous, like yourselves up in bonny scotland the price of flights to cyprus are expensive.

Hope you get sorted and enjoy your holiday( we will be there in june also)

Sorry to say but fairly true to say that all prices to Cyprus from everywhere are expensive now compared to 4 or 5 years ago, however this is true of pretty much everywhere now due to the cost of fuel and air passenger duty

hi Anne from Birtley we also booked through Thompson on a wednesday from Newcastle for b and b at the Avanti Hotel thought we had a good deal until we looked at the jet 2, with Jet 2 we would have paid only £3 more for half board and 22kg of luggage, feel a LITTLE RIPPED OFF but we accept that we should have done a little more homework before booking..have a nice Holiday to all.. just going downstairs to watch Benidorm on ty

Jet 2 are good ; but beware when booking of the last stage, their credit/debit card charges are herendous and can sometimes tip what seemed as a cheaper price over the edge.Booked a return flight a while back for eight people; debit card charge was £60. How can that be justified?

Paul

thats shocking,i didn't like the flight times from newcastle on jet 2, i tend to stick to thomas cook or thomson, you don't get a lot of choice in newcastle, with carriers, saw a one for easy jet, direct flight going out but stop off at birmingham or somewhere on the way back !!!!! stupid that.

forty pounds we are staying at the imperial beach all inclusive, we always go B&B but this year there was not a lot of difference, so we thought why not for a change , enjoy your holiday, 10 weeks to go for us whoop whoop .

Checking flights for Sept/Oct at the moment we have in first place Jet2 from East Midlands, then Monarch from birmingham followed by Thomas Cook Birmingham. However taking into account card charges Monarch beat Jet2 by £20, their debit card charge is zero. Making several flights a year these £20 savings soon pay for an extra flight.
