HB or SC? And how much to eat out?

So I want to go HB at Kefalos but my OH wants to go BB and eat out every evening. How much will it cost to eat out every evening roughly for one week? We're not big drinkers.

it all depends where you go, you can have a 3 course set menu from as little as 12 euro per person, personally we always go self catering to support the local economy and there is always so many nice places to choose from.

A modest meal (2 courses) including a couple of drinks will set you back about Euro 20 per head. But as Shelley mentions there are some good deals around at the moment. Drink the local wine in Carafes, much cheaper than bottles and the quality may surprise you.

Hi, we have stayed twice now at the Kefalos (love it ) first time s/c but we did take the offer of breakfast now and again, the second time we booked B/B which we do prefer, cos you still get all the facilities of s/c without having to cook breakfast, but we got an offer from Thompsons to go half board for a penny a day, well you can't refuse that. So we said we would eat out every other day but the food was so good we only ate out twice in the whole 2 weeks. But if you do that you can have lunch at the pool side restaurant which was very nice. We do love going out to eat in Paphos but most of our favourite restaurants are now the other side of the harbour nearer to Alexander the Great hotel, but there are still some nice ones near to the Kefalos. You will have a lovely holiday whatever you decide. Barbara

Thanks everyone. We booked today and decided to go HB. As Barbara said for the price it's hard to resist.. If we can swap evening meals for lunch then that would suit us to a tee as then we can still go out in the evenings.

Hi, I am sure you will have a great time and you will like the food as much as we did. They do have a weekly menu in reception so you can look through and pick the nights you want to eat in the evening or go out. They do have a BBQ night, think its on a Saturday and we did enjoy that as you sit outside. but the first time it was a bit chilly. One night they did a whole fresh salmon which was amazing and another night they cooked mussels in the dining room, lovely. ( Bit of a fish fan ) You have to ask at reception if you can have lunch instead of evening meal. Hope you have a great holiday and tell us all about it when you get back. Barbara

There is so much competition on the Harbour that prices are good.

Plus..... the further you walk along the front from the bus station/car park, the cheaper the beer gets ! And ask for a carafe of local wine instead of a bottle if you are willing to take the chance of how good the quality will be !
