Stag weekend to monte Carlo, any thoughts and ideas

I am thinking of organising a stag weekend to monte Carlo, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what activities there is to do there during the day.

Also what's the night life gong to be like, and any advice on where and where not to go?

Finally I has heard lots of people saying it's really expensive, so wondered what the price per pint is, and cost of night club entrance etc?

Many thanks

I wouldn't recommend Monaco for a stag weekend unless you have pots of cash.

Activities depend on what time of year you'll be visiting and what your group interests are. Monaco is small, only a couple of square miles in area. In summer there are water activities organized by hotels and some jet-skiing organized from the beach. You could hire a limousine to drive round the Grand Prix circuit, or there's a company that organizes Ferrari rides round the circuit, but they're not based in Monaco. There's a golf course that's on the mountain just behind Monaco, and guided tours round the football stadium. You can also arrange tours round the wine cellar of the Hotel de Paris. But everything comes at quite a high price.

Night life is pretty good, with young people / students from the region coming in to places like the Brasserie de Monaco and Ni Club - both of these have weekend parties organized by event organizers, generally costing up to 20 euros to get in, first drink free. Then you've got the old favourites Sass Cafe, Zelo's and Jimmy'z, free to get in, but if you have more than a couple of drinks you'll be looking at over 100 euros per person. Most people buy bottles of spirits to share with the group - it works out cheaper. Don't be tempted to buy drinks for people you don't know - one of our acquaintances left Jimmy'z with a bill for a couple of thousand euros after unwittingly buying a couple of bottles of champagne for someone.

Bars have happy hours which bring drinking in the early evening down to a reasonable price.

If budget is an issue, then you'd be better basing yourself outside Monaco, for instance in Nice, of if you really want to be close, then Beausoleil (sometimes referred to as upper Monte Carlo). Get the group dressed up like James Bond, go to the casino, hire a limo. If you want to party in Monaco, you'll pay a fortune. It's much cheaper elsewhere on the Cote d'Azur.
