Commuting between Nice and Monte Carlo

What's the best way to commute between these 2 cities? Are there buses? Boats or is the cab fare very expensive...

Bus 100, 1 euro, takes about 1 hour.

Bus 100X, 1 euro, takes about 40 mins.

Trains, 3.60 euros, takes about 20 mins.

Cab, 70 to 80 euros, takes 20-30 mins.

From Nice Airport you've also got the option of the helicopter or the airport bus.

Thank you so much monacoCabbie.

I intend to commute by train.

Just to confirm, The 3 stations between Nice and Monte Carlo would be

Saint Augustin (airport), Riquier and Gare de Monaco, is that correct? And one can board the train from Riquier to Monaco, which has the same train frequency as from St Augustin?

I realize also that the Saint Augustin train station is pretty far from the airport. Is there also a shuttle service from the airport arrival area to Gare St Augustin?

Thanks again!

If you're traveling from the airport, I'd advise taking the airport bus. The closest railway station to the airport is Nice St Augustin, and you can take a shuttle close to the station, but not directly to it. The stations between there and Monaco are:

Nice Ville

Nice Riquier

Villefranche

Beaulieu

Eze

Cap d'Ail

Fast trains stop at the Nice stations and at Beaulieu.

Hi,

Where can I find the train schedule from St Augustin to Monaco? I tried this site www.ter-sncf.com but can't find English language there.

Can I buy tickets in advance or at the train station?

Here's a link to the PDF download:

There's a ticket machine at the station that will probably accept credit cards.

To avoid the not very pleasant walk to St Augustin station, take the 99 express airport bus to Nice Ville station (every 30 minutes, €4, takes 15 minutes) and get the train from there.

IMO, the best is the direct bus between Nice Airport and Monaco for 18 euros, every 30 mins - no changes and it takes you pretty much to your hotel door.

The 110 bus is direct from the airport to Monaco.

At terminal 2, come out of departures, straight ahead through the doors, turn right and walk along the pavement about 100 yards to the bus ticket office. Buy ticket and the bus stop is pretty much opposite.

At terminal 1, come out of departures, turn left, down steps/ramp, walk to end of building, through doors, buy bus ticket on your left, bus stops by the ticket office.
