Inexpensive Lunch in Monte Carlo

Looking for an inexpensive lunch spot in Monte Carlo after visiting the Palace and Gardens. Will be traveling with children and thinking pasta or pizza (bing so close to Italy) would be awesome. On that note are there any great Italian food shops in Mont Carlo?

If you end up on the Rock, near the Palace, there are lots of reasonably priced restaurants up there. We've eaten at Express (http://maboum.com/express) a couple of times (pizza), Pinocchio (http://maboum.com/pinocchio), and U Cavagnetu (http://maboum.com/cavagnetu).

If you're in the port area, Planet Pasta (http://maboum.com/planet-pasta) is a reasonable bet for pasta.

For food shopping, Monaco is not that great. Most people use the supermarket, as elsewhere. There's one Italian delicatessen that I know of, can't remember the name, but it's next door to Cosmopolitan (http://maboum.com/map-cosmopolitan). There's also one in Beausoleil in France, sometimes referred to as Upper Monte Carlo, called Sapori Italiani (http://maboum.com/sapori-italiani). You could also try the refurbished Condamine Market at Place d'Armes - I think one of the new stalls sells Italian food specialities. But as Italy is so close, many people drive over there to get their Italian food staples.

Thanks for all recommendations! Leaning towards Pinocchio or Cavagnetu. Will skip the food shopping in Monaco and spend more time at the Palace!

We will be visiting the Jardin Exotique in early October and are interested in finding a spot for lunch and an adult beverage, with a nice view. Is there somewhere up near the garden or should we make our way back down towards the waterfront. We'd probably be looking for something light, perhaps a nice salad or a cold sandwich with a glass of wine or beer.

Thanks for any input you can offer!

There's a restaurant with a fabulous view right next door to the Jardin Exotique. It's called Chaumiere (http://maboum.com/chaumiere). I haven't yet eaten there myself, tho' it's very well respected.

If that's not to your liking, then you'll need to head back to the centre of town. There are plenty of places by the port.
