Car Rental in Austria

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to go to Austria - Vienna, Salzberg etc in July, and would like to hire a car to obviously get around and see the place.

The problem is my mother thinks there is an Austrian sur-charge for car rental for under 25s more than doubles the price. I know there is an European charge for under 25s which is a maximum of 110€ but can't find anything about this "Austrian sur-charge".

Does anyone know if it actually exists or is my mother crazy?

Thanks!

This may vary by rental firm-

I believe if under 21 you will find added fees for sure.

Best to check reputable firms.

a good quick way to find rental good pricing and a firm answer to your under 25 inquiry

look to a consolidator website-

www.autoeurope.at

www.gemut.com

You can save money with these and still pick up your auto from a major firm.
