Driving in Austria

Hello,

I will be driving for 4 days in Austria, from Linz to Salzburg to Melk to Vienna.

Once i reach Vienna, i will give the car back so wont have car in city.

But can anyone please advise me something about driving in Austria ?

Just country specific rules :)

Tolls, etc.

Thanks a lot for your time.

BTW: driving from 25th Sep to 4 days

Here is an info on the necessary toll sticker: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g190410-i146-k6827…

I also suggest to perform a google search using, for instance, "driving rules Austria".

I presume coming from Dubai you will be hiring a car. If so, and it's an Austrian rental, it will already have a toll sticker.

the one different rule that I have come across (being from Ireland), is the fact that when you enter a village, you will come across a sign with the name of the village. although it doesn't say it, that is a sign that means max speed 50kph. when you leave the village, the same sign will have a red diagonal line, which means end of 50kph zone.

You will enjoy driving in Austria. It is really nice but you have to follow the rules and get the highway sticker from the gas station about 7 euro
