Austrian rail OBB

Two of us are booking tickets from Salzberg to Zurich. Two ticket options appear in the ticket price: Globalpreis and SparSchiene. The difference is 80 Euros more for Globalpreis. What are the differences in the two? Also are both refundable?

SparSchiene ties you to a specific time and date of travel and you cannot break the journey.

Sparschiene means a Special offer which does not accept any changes and is not refundable. Therefore is cheaper, but is a good Option to save money. You can only buy it 6 months in advance. As only a few tickets has an offer is better you buy it as soon as possible. You can only buy it online. Second class is good enough

Do not forget to ask for the PDF for your ticket. You print it an then is the original.

Best regards,
