Public Transit

How is the public transit system in Salzburg? Do they have trams or subways to get around the city? Do they offer day passes or multi day passes?

Thanks

Salzburg public transport is superb. However the city is tiny so you won't need to use the bus too much.

Too small to have an underground. :-)

You can do most of the sites on foot.

If you want to visit lots of paid attractions, it's great value to get a Salzburg Card, which includes entry to these as well as free use of public transport. It costs €26/35/41 per person for 24/48/72 hours respectively. You can find out more about it on the Salzburg tourist board website here: www.salzburg.info/en/sights/salzburg_card

The only time we had to use the bus was when we went out to Hellbrun Palace. The Salzburg Card worked very well for us.

Does anybody know how much it will be for a taxi from the airport to the old town?
