Regarding point number one: you're not going to be worthwhile getting VorteilsCards as these will set you back €99 per adult. For the trips you have mentioned, you can do these all really inexpensively. For Berchtesgaden, you can get what's called a BLB-Tageskarte plus Salzburg for €9 return per person from the SLB desk downstairs in Salzburg Hbf. To get to Hallstatt, your best value bet is going to be an Einfach-Raus-Ticket which will cover you all for €35 oebb.at/en/…index.jsp available to buy on the day so no need to book. There are however restrictions. As for your journey to Vienna, you can get the cheapest tickets by booking online here ticketing.oebb.at/inet/pub/en/discount where single fares start at €19 per person. Otherwise consider the Westbahn www.westbahn.at which costs €23.90 single per person and can be bought on the train.

NB an Einfach-Raus-Ticket is no good for Munich-Salzburg-Munich - for that you would need a Bayern Ticket, which is the German equivalent.
