Any music, performances, concerts etc. on Nov 4th

Hi

Is anybody aware of any concerts etc. there will be on Sunday 4th November that might be interesting to see to experience something 'Viennanise' and for which tickets will still be available (but which won't be very expensive) and where formal dress won't be required.

Thanks

I notice that the state opera has Strauss' Arabella on that date, but the cheapest available tickets it seems are 75 euro. Is there any possibility of cheaper tickets on the night? Can you attend in jeans etc.?

TIA

The Musikverein has a good performance - but only 20 euro tickets remain- they have no view of the stage as they are in the organ loft above the stage- fantastic view of the house however.

www.musikverein.at

for the State Opera -

standing room tickets go on sale 80 minutes before the performance 2-3 euro- cheap way to see the Opera -

good views and acoustics from this area.

no formal dress needed -

you should also check with the box office at both places when you arrive and up to the day of the performance - some times single tickets become available-

unfortunately you wait too long to get tickets

Hi

For the standing room tickets do you just turn up outside the opera house 80 minutes before it starts and theere'll be a queue?

There is a special box office to sell these standing room tickets on the side of the Opera House.

For good and sold out performances - the line of people begins well before the office opens 80 minutes before the performance.

I would be there before the 80 minute opening- how much before depends on your desire to be certain to have a ticket .

Bring a scarf - you can tie it to the rail at your spot in the standing room area - this is the way standees " reserve" their place.

You can then walk around and see the rooms of the Opera before the performance and perhaps have some food and drink too.

Good Luck !
