1 bed room apartment in Vienna (20-30 min from Donau City)

I will be staying in Vienna for atleast 6 months from Mar08 onwards. Please suggest how much a average 1 bed room furnished apartment rental will be. My place of work is Donau City Strabe 6. Is there any minimum period for lease agreement?

Since no one has given you anything specific. I suggest you try the Vienna Apartment Service for a start:

We have used them for our stays in Vienna and have found the service very reliable with many choices in apartments.

You may find this arrangement to be very expensive. Rentals will vary greatly on size , location and quality of furnishings.

most normal lease agreements here are for extended periods. ( 5 years + )In addition a high deposit is needed- for regular rentals mostly 3 months rent.

Many Short term rentals mostly to tourists are very limited - weekly or monthly at crazy prices.

I would first discuss this matter with your employer. You can not be the first to need this arrangement . they may have a list.

Your work place is probably not too far from the UBahn line U-1 - I would start your search in areas along this line.

I understand that rental depends upon location, size and quality of furnishing. I am looking for a convenient location from Donau City(U1 as mentioned by vertical).

Size: 50sqm-60sqm

Furnishing: avg/budget (not opulent)

3 months rentals as security deposit is not a problem.

Besides, Iam the only person from my company coming to Vienna. No one else is expected to come also.

Please advice.

Thanks & Kind Regards

you can find the normal rental flats ads in the daily news papers. But it is all in German

Kurier , new ones out on Saturday

Der Standard

Immobilien Bazar

here some private Ads

If you see somewhere: Vormerkschein, Gemeindewohnung etc this is not elible for you

If you are under 27 you can try to get a room in a kolpinghaus . This is brand new and you can take the U1 until Donaustadt

Thanks Husanniang. German is a handicap for me. Iam over 27. Sometime in May08, my wife and my 2.5yrs old som will also join me for 3 months. Iam looking for an apartment in the range off EUR600-800. Is U1 a rail route no?

Please advice.

Thanks & Kind Regards

Try vrbo.com......they have vacation rentals but sometimes you can get a cheaper rate for a longer term
