Three days in Vienna

We arrive on a 02 june wednesday afternoon 2:30pm in Vienna and depart on 06junemorning. We have our 2kids 5/10 year old, with us need a little help with making an itinerary.

We would like to see the Schonbrunn Palace, Belvedere palace, Stephansdom, imperial palace, etc. Any recommendation city tour bus will be better or do our own.

Despite all of my research I'm having a hard time nailing down a schedule for us and would appreciate any help as well as any suggestions will be helpful.

Using the Vienna public transport, you can visit many of the places you wish to see. wien.gv.at/english/…publictrans.htm

There is a four hour city tour with a short cruise, that will orientate you to Vienna. The pick up point is State Opera building, karlsplatz.

Other tours that may interest you can be found on www.viennacitytours.com

Seeing as you have two young children, a must (well for them!) is The famous Prater, a Viennese instituation. www.wien.info/en/sightseeing/prater

Vienna is easily navigable so no need to take a tour.

With kids I wouldn't particularly bother with the Belvedere palace which is mainly an art gallery. Schönbrunn would be much more interesting, particularly if you take in the zoo:

Check out Haus der Musik which has loads of hands-on fun for all ages:

The tourist authority has many ideas for families on its website:

Drawing up a detailed itinerary is something most of us don't have time to do for every visitor, particularly as everyone's tastes differ. But if you have specific questions please come back to us.

PS The above poster gives an incorrect address for the State Opera - it is NOT on Karlsplatz!
