Dressing in Vienna

I am a vistor to Vienna on official business.

I am an Indian and have always worn saris.

Will it be very awkward if I continue to wear my traditional dress?

I can't see why not! Vienna is a major UN centre, and people from all over the world congregate there. As long as you dress and behave respectfully you will be fine. A sari counts as respectful in my book.

You will see many desi women wear Salwar Kameez in Vienna.

So enjoy wearing your sari as long as dont feel too cold here.

I did wear my sari for a Diwali festival in Vienna and only got some compliments in the underground.
