Help about hotel location

Hello all! We'll be visiting Vienna for 4 nights in late July coming from Salzburg.I've been looking at these 2 hotels since both are within our budget and also liked their ambience.

The prices are quite similar but the location is different..Which area do you recommend of the 2?

p.s.: Feel free if you have any other hotel recommendation in the centre no more than 100euros/night for a double room!

Both are in easy reach of the first district .

Be aware that Hotel Rainer is facing a busy street with trams passing by quite often.

Thank you for your answer..What i'd really like to know is whether or not one area is,let's say, more attractive than the other, has more cafes, restaurants, etc!

I'd go with Erzherzog Rainer. Closer to downtown, shopping

They are both well placed and equally distant to center. Both are near helpful tram lines, but the Alpha has the advantage of proximity to the Ubahn as well. The Rainer is near the freihausviertel (wien.info/en/…freihausviertel) which includes the Naschmarkt and some interesting side streets. The Alpha is near one of my favorite dining streets in Vienna, Langegasse. Check out the blog www.sushiandstrudel.com for some ideas in these areas. (Note: this is not my blog, just listing as it is a helpful resource)
