Hidden gem restaurants

Any hidden gems you would recommend? I'll be traveling to Vienna the first week of May.

If I posted them here, they wouldn't be hidden.

No seriously, I like the Schoene Perle in the 2nd District or Cafe Wortner on a nice day.

We adored our neighborhood cafe, the Cafe-Restaurant Winter in the 9th District. The 42 and 43 trams from Schottentor stop right in front of it.

What are you expecting from a restaurant? How much do you want to pay?

Can you stand smoke?

I posted earlier several nice restaurants in the 4th and 05th district .

You can either walk or take the bus 59A

Restaurant Zum Stöger (smoker restaurant)

Ramperstorffergasse 63 1050 Vienna

http://www.zumstoeger.at/

Haas Beisl (smoker restaurant) - for meat lover only

Margaretenstraße 74 1050 Vienna

http://www.haasbeisl.at/

Wiener Wiaz´Haus (closed on Weekends)

Gußhausstrasse 24 1040 Wien

http://www.wiener-wiazhaus.at/

Glacis Beisl (non smoker)

Breitegasse 4, 1070 Wien

www.glacisbeisl.at

There are many in the outer districts with their original charm , have a visit at the Heurigen (many threads about them to find the real ones and not the touristic ones)

or eat in one of the coffee houses as many offer proper meals and set menus.

I especially enjoyed

Café Drechsler (smoker and non smoker rooms)

Linke Wienzeile 22, 1060 Wien

I have found the corner of Blumenstockgasse and Ballgasse to host a number of interesting, less tourist-oriented establishments whose "preciousness" as gems is mostly in them charging much less than tourist traps like Plachuttas for an authentic Wienerschnitzel, and hiddenness in that not many people but the locals even know that Ballgasse and Blumenstockgasse exist and how to get there. They aren't even marked on Google Maps, but if you type in "Ballgasse" or "Blumenstockgasse" and "Vienna", Google Maps will show you how to get there.
