My husband and I are traveling around Germany and Austria by car for one week in mid-October with my elderly parents, who are in their early 80s. We plan on spending 2 nights in the Vienna area and seeing a few of the sights. They are slow walkers so I wanted to try and plan our hotel decision accordingly. I have reviewed much of the hotel information on Vienna and I was originally thinking we'd stay in the 1st district, but now think we may be better served staying outside the center for parking and noise reasons.
These are some of my preferred criteria and I'd love input from anyone that might be willing to suggest specific hotels:
1) We want to be able to drive directly to the hotel. Parking needs to be very close by, but does not have to be AT the hotel itself. Do not want to pay more than 25 Euro/day for parking. We prefer NOT to do the Park and Ride, given my parents less-than-ideal mobility issues.
2) 4-star hotel or better, charming atmosphere, quiet (no all-night street noise). A pretty view from the hotel (either from our room and/or a patio/bar area). Prefer spending under 170 Euros per night, per room.
3) Does NOT have to be in center city Vienna, but would need to be within a block or two of easy walking to a train/underground into the city.
Thank you, in advance, for any input.
