Nites look good to me. What is your budget per night for the Vienna portion of your stay? Ideally you's want to be in close to teh city center but the public transport system is awesome so you can be anywhere quickly.

If you can manage it I'd go for five NIGHTS. The 2nd district is quite large with good and not-so-good areas. Have you an exact address?

Getting between the cities is cheap - you shouldn't need to spend more than €19 for each leg by train, slightly less by bus.

Not bad at all. It lies between the district's two main streets - Praterstrasse and Taborstrasse. A short walk to Nestroyplatz underground station (3 minutes ride to the cathedral) or 15 minutes or so walk to the cathedral. About 5 minutes walk to the Karmelitermarkt market. A reasonable selection of restaurants within a short walk.
