Hotels in Castles?

I'm going to be staying in Vienna for a few nights and am looking (without much success) for a castle converted into a hotel. Anyone know of any?

I don't know of any Castles in or around Vienna that have been converted into a hotel. There is a palace that is now a luxury hotel - Palais Coburg.

Is there any [articular reason you are looking for a castle hotel?

Castles tend not to be a feature of most European cities and where they do (eg Tower of London) they are preserved as major tourist attractions. Vienna actually has a few former palaces that are now hotels, but if you are looking for turrets and battlements you're out of luck.

As Vienna is a big city, there aren't many castles here, rather palaces.

Hotel Imperial used to be a palace too, but as it has been converted into a hotel already for the 1873 world fair, only 10 years after having been built, the grand staircase is probably all that reminds you of it's former time as a palace, unless you're staying in one of the grand suites.

Castles which have been converted into hotels are to be found on the countryside, for example:

Note that some of these places are open in the warm season only.

You have castles and palaces. There is no castle converted in a hotel in Vienna . Several palais like the Coburg were converted to different functions eg

Palais Hansen is now Hotel Kempinski kempinski.com/en/…

Henckel von Donnersmarck is now the SAS Palais hotel http://www.radissonblu.com/palaishotel-vienna

Palais Württemberg now Hotel Strudlhof http://www.strudlhof.at/en/hotel-strudlhof/

Maybe Parkhotel Schönbrunn is an option. The guest of the Emperor stayed in this house.
