Tromso Seven Day Pass

Hi, I will be traveling to Tromso for 3 days in Dec (28-30). After reading about the most effective bus ticket to go around Tromso, I hav decided to buy a seven day pass. My question about the pass:

1. Can I use this pass for traveling from airport to city center and vice versa so that I don’t have to buy separate ticket. I understand that I can take bus 40 and 42.

2. I will be staying at Tomasjordness area, so this pass can be used also for bus from city center to Tomasjordness? I wonder if the pass can only be used in the small island of Tromso itself or it can be used on other neighborhoods?

Thanks in advance for any insights

Hi everyone it's me again :)

I have some other questions related to bus / bus station in Tromso. Not sure if I have to start new thread or not, so decided just to continue here.

1. How many bus station are there in Tromso city? I know there is Prostneset Bus Terminal located at Sentrum. But what about bus stop around UIT/UNN area, is this the other bus terminal?

I will be frequently traveling by bus since my airbnb located in Tomasjordnes and I learn from the public transportation map that most of the bus stop located in Sentrum, I assume this means the Prostneset terminal?

2. My flight to Oslo will be on 12/31 at 08:00 so I need to leave for the airport at 05:00. Checked the Bussring website and it showed some early departure times. Can anyone please advise me what would be the best way to go to airport from my airbnb, should I book the taxi from Tomasjordnes to Bussring Prostneset or Tromso City Center then board the bussring to the airport?

Or should I book the taxi right from Tomasjordnes to the airport? and how much does this cost? I know booking taxi will be too expensive.

oh, I am trying to take public transportation that costs less expensive to the airport, and I know this is early morning so I have to be ready if the only choice is taking taxi.

Thanks for any insights

There is only one bus terminal, but city buses will have many different stops on each line.

Use taxikalkulator for taxi fares.

New Year's Eve might run to Saturday bus schedules, unlikely to be very early morning buses from Tomasjord.

First of all, if your flight departs at 08:00, its enough time if you order a taxi to leave your apartment at 06:30, since its take only 15-20 mins from Tomasjordnes, and its enough to check-in 45 mins before.

Please check the shortest route from Tomasjordnes (which street name ?) to the airport, https://goo.gl/maps/ChUaxE29Am22

And here do you've the both routes the buses can bring you into the city centre, https://goo.gl/maps/Wpp5zWxaacE2

Route I: Tomasjordnes - UNN - Tromsø = 10 km / Route II: Tomasjordnes - Arctic Cathedral - Tromsø city = 5 km

Taxi Calculator, https://www.taxikalkulator.no - NOK 265 from Tomasjordnes - airport, December 31st, 6 am.

By the way; Where did you found the info about "Tromso Seven Day Pass"..?

I dont think this is a card for the regular city buses, but maybe you mean a "Seven days Aurora Pass"..?

The cheapest way to travel around in Tromsø city and the district, on buses, ferries and fast ferries, is to buy a Tromsø Card, https:/…category2224.html or download the App, Mobillett.

@GuideGunnar Thanks for the detail information.

I learnt the Seven Day Pass from https:/…category1551.html where it explains about the "Pre-purchased tickets:- A seven-days ticket (valid for 168 hours) cost NOK 240 for adults". I am planning to buy it at Point kiosk - Tromsø Airport, Langnes (arrival terminal) once my flight landing.

Have tried to install the app Mobillett on my phone, but then realized that this needs internet connection all the time, meanwhile I don't plan to get international roaming while I am abroad. But thank you for the valuable information!
