Tromso to abisko on 2 jan 2014

We intend to take public transport from Tromso to abisko on 2 jan 2014. Wish to reach abisko before dark.

Read that we can take bus from Tromso to Narvik and train from Narvik to Abisko

Can anyone advise the following:

1) Which bus to take the bus from Tromso to reach Abisko on time?

2) Where to purchase the bus tickets to Narvik?

I've never understood why Abisko is so popular since it's in the middle of nowhere with little to do. Staying an extra day or two in Tromso would be better as there is more to do during the daytime - and not at least due to the fact that Tromso actually can offer so much more when it comes to eating.

But to get from Tromso to Abisko on 2nd Jan before it gets dark is an impossible task, as the sun never rises. There'll be dusk though at around noon.

To get one of the two daily trains from Narvik to Abisko you need to catch the 0615-departure of bus service #100 to Narvik, arriving at the railstation in Narvik at 1028. Trains to Abisko depart at 1045 and 1240, arriving in Abisko 1h 37m later.

Bus tickets are bought on the bus using cash (NOK or Euro) or card (credit or debit - Visa/Mastercard).

Probably the power of marketing WT, or some round trip suggestion in a guidebook intended for summer travel.
