Long weekend in a car

We are hiring a car at the airport and staying at the Clarion With, so that's all sorted.

The question is where are the really scenic drives and places for a couple of days. We will be driving west to try and catch the NL at night, of course.

Are there any particularly lovely fjords to aim for with a nice meal of salmon or something traditionally Norwegian at the end! (but not to pay a fortune but probably not possible in Norway)

Or are there any waterfalls or cliffs worth aiming for

The weather may not be sensible to drive too far at this time of year but any suggestions from locals would be very welcome.

Note that March is still winter up north. Be prepared for ice, snow or slush on roads.

Where to drive depends on where there is clear sky. Waterfalls may be very small in dry and/or cold weather.

There are great landscapes all over, including Tromsø itself

Most famous (with good reason) is the Lyngen area

You could do Tromsø to Skjervøy like so through Lyngen including two car ferries

then take Hurtigruten back to Tromsø car and all and have dinner onboard. Finding anywhere to have a nice meal in the countryside is not realistic at all. At best you will find some roadside cafés and snacks at petrol stations. There will also be a possibility to have a scack on the ferries.

Why ever eat farmed salmon when there is fresh, wild fish available ???
