Football and nightlife!

My fiance and I will be in Oslo for a weekend from Friday September 25.

We hope to do some sightseeing on Saturday but would also be interested in going to a football match.

I've been searching online and can't find fixtures for either Valerenga or Lyn, can anyone tell me if either of those teams are playing in Oslo on Saturday September 26?

Also, any recommendations for a lively restaurant and bar/club would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Look up this for nightlife options:

There are no matches in Oslo on Saturday. Lyn plays at home on Sunday vs Tromso at 6 pm.

If you like to watch the English Premier League on TV, there are a wide choice of sports bars in Oslo for Saturday evening.

Just a couple of comments to the football-question.

As GT already has mentioned you could watch Lyn vs Tromsø - probably on Sunday 27. (time could be changed if NRK or TV2 will show this match live - every weekend they pick out three games to go live on TV - but I guess the will not choose this match). But you should know that Lyn is not a very popular team (probably only 1500 spectators on the matches) - so don't expect the best atmosphere, but Lyn need you (they lack both money, points and supporters) - so you will probably be heartly welcomed:).

Sorry you're one week to late to watch the local derby Vålerenga (from the eastern part of the city) vs Lyn (from the western part of the city) - I guess there will be a lot of people and nice atmosphere on that night.

Vålerenga (VIF) (which has the biggest supporter club in Norway) plays away in Bodø at your dates, but will maybe play UEFA Euroleage on Thursday 24 / Friday 25 if they reach the group stage.

And there is another match (Telenor Arena - indoor stadium) Stabæk-Strømsgodset just outside Oslo on Sunday 26.
