Easter Holiday In Oslo.

Hi From Dublin,

Great value flights Ryan Air to Rygge Airport. We

hope to go to Oslo for 3 nights need some advice re accomadation

Is Oslo expensive for eating out drinking alcohol etc.

Is there a city near Rygge we could holiday in for Easter. Any advice would be helpful.

Oslo and Norway is indeed expensive, but still manageable for most Western tourists. A pint of beer will set you back around € 8, a main course at a restaurant will vary from around € 13-15 at the cheapest Asian restaurants, and around € 28-32 at the more upscale places. Remember that you can save quite a lot by using the grocery stores for simple snacks and drinks, rather than spend it all in cafes and restaurants.

From Rygge, Oslo is the obvious destination, especially in winter. The cities around Rygge/Østfold are in my opinion summer cities, although a short visit to Fredrikstad or Drøbak could be OK if you'd like to see some historical sights. I take it from your question that you are more into nightlife than fortresses, and if this is actually the case, then Oslo it is.

I agree with stesath that Oslo should be your choice. Look up this site for more information, including accomodation, restaurants & bars and What's On through the Easter period:

Easter as such is not a big event in Norway. Many have holidays as from Palm Sunday until Easter Boxing Day. Many restaurants, museums etc. are either closed or have limited opening hours through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day.

Cities close to Rygge:
