Train/tram fare

We will be arriving Oslo Lufthavn at 14.35 on a Thursday. Plan to take train to Oslo S

(NOK 90 each?) on NSB Kongsberg.

We are told to take Tram 12 (towards Majorstuen) outside Oslo S to Vigelands Park.

Plan to spend an hour there.

On return, we have to take Tram 12 (towards Kjelsas) at Nobels Gate 32 to Oslo S.

Please advise if the above info is accurate and can we utilise the same train ticket throughout,

granted it's within two and half hours?

Appreciate any response.

There are several types of tickets. The cheapest solution in this case is a 24h ticket for zones 1-4. It costs 190 NOK and will cover all journeys on public transport operated by NSB and Ruter in Oslo and Akershus within 24h. You can buy it from the Narvesen store in the arrival hall at Oslo Airport.

Please note that the period ticket is not valid on airport coaches and the airport express train.

A single ticket for 1 journey within Oslo (zone 1) costs 30 NOK when bought in advance.

A single train ticket will be valid for transfer to trams and buses within the transfer rules for transfer times which is one hour from activating the ticket. You should be able to get as far as Frognerparken within the one hour time limit, but the ticket will not be valid for the return and you will need a new single ticket for that journey at NOK 30 per adult if bought in advance and at NOK 50 bought on the bus.

A 'single' ticket from Olso Lufthavn (Gardermoen) zone 4N to city centre zone 1 costs NOK 90 and lasts for 2 1/2 hours from validation at the platform. Provided you start your last journey within that time you will be ok. Check validate the ticket when you get on the tram to be sure. Buy the ticket at the Public Transport desk at Oslo Lufthavn (Gardermoen) - easier than battling With NSB ticket machines.

It looks like I made a mistake - sorry, but i did not know that NSB tickets were valid for more than 1 journey.

NSB tickets within Oslo Public transport region (which includes Olso Lufthavn) are interchangeable with Ruter tickets. For simplicity I'd advise buying Ruter tickets at the Public Transport kiosk at Oslo Lufthavn (or any of the kiosk shops).

Long distance NSB tickets are NOT transfereable to Oslo Public Transport system!
