Funicular railway in Gergen

We arrive by cruise ship at 09:00 and leave at 19:00, and would like to go on the funicular railway. I believe it may be very busy trying to buy a ticket at the station, and advises you cannot buy in advance. Do you know how far it is to walk from where the ships dock to the station, or any way you can buy these tickets in advance? Do the trains run continually throughout the day? Any other tips on this, or other areas that are worth seeing. Thank you.

There are different docks, so impossible to say without knowing your date and your ship. On busy days there are always long lines at the funicular early in the day, so the later the better.

When we were there last year, we made sure we were off the ship ASAP and walked right to the funicular. There were only a few people in line ahead of us. We were the only ship in port that day so it wasn't a problem for us, but you should check to see how many ships will be in port the day you are there. We bought a one way ticket and walked down, which we enjoyed very much. We had plenty of time after that to visit the market and some of the museums.
