The quickest route will involve three changes:
Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale station
Change there for Victoria line of the Underground to Oxford Circus
Change there for Bakerloo line of the Underground to Marylebone
Train from Marylebone to Banbury
That should take about 2h45m
There is a route with just one change, but it takes much longer - about 3h30m:
National Express coach (bus) 727 from Stansted to Heathrow Central bus station
I'm thinking that for that number hiring a bus (with driver) is going to be the quickest and cheapest way.
Unfortunately I've no idea on how to set about it. Maybe your hotel in Banbury can recommend a local company that would come to Stansted to you?Edited: 07 March 2010, 22:36
That's a very good idea. I'd guess that a hired mini-bus/coach would take about 2.5 hours to go down the M11, round the M25 and up the M40.
There's a list of companies here from Banbury that might be suitable: http://www.banbury-cross.co.uk/mocoaches.htm - I have no experience of them. (Cheney Coaches looks hopeful - as dzug says, perhaps your hotel or host have heard of them?)Edited: 07 March 2010, 23:08
