East Midlands to London

We are flying into East Midlands from Faro and are going to book a train to London. Would we be better taking it from Loughborough than Leicester and, if so, how much would it be for a taxi from the airport to the train station?

Consider using East Midlands Park Way as this is fairly near the airport, there is a bus service linking the airport and the station and it may be cheaper. Try this linkhttp://www.eastmidlandsairport.com/emaweb.nsf/Content/train

Consider Loughborough which is connected by Skylink bus to EMA. More London trains stop there than at East Midlands Parkway.

Look at the EMA website for travel options.

Is it within walking distance from the High Street to the station? We only have cabin baggage so easily enough carried.

Half a mile - maybe a bit less

To get a bus that actually goes TO a rail station you have to head in the other direction from the airport - to Derby

xx15 and xx45 most of the day - takes 36 minutes

Thanks, that's good to know. We've got loads of time (unless Ryanair let us down!) and will grab some lunch while we're there.

There are plenty of buses from Loughborough town centre to the station but it's a fairly easy walk anyway, about 10 minutes. The High Street stop is within a few yards of a Macdonalds if you like that sort of thing.
