Premier Inn St Austell to Eden Project

Hi All

We are coming over to the Eden project in April 2011 and it is the first time that we will be utilising public transport throughout our trip. We are staying at the Premier inn in st Austel, can anyone advise us of buses that we may take to get to eden, Trains or is it walkable?

We have 2 children with us age 8 and 12.

Regards

It's about 2-3 miles to the entrance to Eden from the Premier Inn but the first part of the distance is along a busy dual carriageway and so not a particularly good walking route. And you'll be doing plenty of walking around Eden when you get there.

There are buses to Eden but none that I know of which would be very convenient for you so I think your best option would be to get a taxi which shouldn't work out too expensive given that there are several of you.

The Premier Inn has stunning views of St Austell Bay from its terrace by the way - on a good, clear day of course!

Oh dear ! This appears to be situated on the St. Austel Bypass just north of Carclaze and no-where near a bus stop. The buses to the Eden Project go from St.Austel Rail Station - see www.westerngreyhound.com/route_pdf2/527.pdf and cornwallpublictransport.info/pdf_tts/101-Fir… (note that these services are run by different bus companies that do not accept each other's tickets).

You will therefore need to get a taxi into town, in which case, it might be worth taking one all the way to Eden as it not that much further.

Hi

Yes, i agree. It will make much more sense to get a taxi straight to Eden, as if you go to St.Austell bus/rail station first you will be backtracking and duplicating your route besides taking much longer.

The Premier Inn is in a fairly rural location on the very outskirts of St .austell, hence the lack of buses . The Travel Lodge would probably have been a better location for public transport as its much closer to the town and is on a bus route.

Hi i have read your posts regarding staying at the premier inn and travelling to the Eden Project. There is a lovely Clay trail walk from the Premier Inn to Eden which is about 2.5 miles. Also a taxi is approximatly £5.00 or if you wanted to catch a bus you could walk approx 1/4 mile where the bus stop is that goes to Eden, or you could catch the baus from the Premier Inn to the Town then catch the other Bus up to Eden.

If you would like anymore Info please give us a call at the Premier Inn.

Many Thanks

I refer you to the replies to the original posting in this thread. The answer is no as the hotel is situated on the St. Austel Bypass just north of Carclaze and no-where near a bus stop.
