Help please

Can anyone please recomend a hotel in Weymouth. I want to bring my mum for a 4/5 day stay, we dont need 5 star or anything too grand, just nice food, nice rooms, some entertainment would be a bonus but its not vital. Ive looked at couch travel to Weymouth from Liverpool (with Shearings) and its to the Royal Hotel but looking at the reviews on here it doesnt sound too good. So i,m at a bit of a loss, never having been there before. Any help would be really appreciated. ps, my mum is 86 but in perfect health, she,s got more energy than me, so we dont need lifts etc. Pam

I think you might like the Esplanade Hotel which is well located in Weymouth, is very clean and nice, and has a lovely breakfast. I used to know well the owners, but I see that it has changed hands. You didn't really state a budget, but if you would like a nice B&B, my recommendation is Brunswick Guest House very near the Esplanade and run by Mark and Rose Brunt. I always stay at the Brunswick when I am in Weymouth. You can contact either establishment via a website or email. If you query Mark and Rose, tell them that Chuck recommended them to you. Good luck.

You are welcome. In case Brunswick Guest House will be full, you can ask Mark for his recommendation of other guest houses to try. There are tons of them right along Brunswick Terrace and on the actual Esplanade. I have also stayed at Channel View Guest House and The Channel Guest House. Either of those would be suitable as well. Good luck.

You could try the Seaham, on the sea front. See trip advisor reviews on it. - I understand its very good, Also some years ago, before we moved here, we stayed at the Pebbles. Not on sea front, but not too far away, (also reviewed on t.a.) and found it fine.

Hope you have a good time here.

I know youre looking for a hotel, but just incase you look at cottages, please DO NOT book Bow Cottage in Weymouth. It is one run down, neglected cottage inside and out. Anyway have a gr8 holiday.
