Hi can anyone help me

Looking to hire a mobile home and park up somewhat near Windermere within easy walking/cycling to local village/tourist spots. This is our first time with a mobile home so any advice would be grateful received , any recommended camp sites.

First of all I am assuming you mean a motorhome rather than a mobile home. If not please disregard this advice!

Fallbarrow Park is a very popular site. It is in a good position, right on the edge of the lake in Bowness, and an easy walk to the village. It is not a cheap option though, particularly when taking into account the cost of hiring a motorhome. Braithwaite Fold is another site nearby. There are not that many sites within walking distance of shops, pubs etc.on Windermere.

Bowness can get very, very busy, especially from Easter through Summer. If you are looking for somewhere with lots going on then this is fine, but if you want somewhere a bit more peaceful you could possibly look at other areas in the Lakes.

Some other places with sites nearby, close to lakes and walkable distance to shops etc., are Keswick, Pooley Bridge at the north of Ullswater, Hawkshead and Coniston.

The Camping and Caravanning Club offers a lot of good advice, and if you join there is a good discount at a lot of sites.
