Poplar Tree Garden Centre

On a trip to the North East we stumbled upon a beautiful setting, just

a mile or two from the city centre. It was a garden centre in a place

called shincliffe village. Poplar Tree garden centre is a lovely

example of tradition and beauty. Its not like your supersized retail outlets

where everything is shoved under one roof...its a place where you can

get great advice about what you are buying, pick up great gifts and

enjoy a lovely walk down to the river from the back of the property. It

also has a lovely brand new coffee shop which sells the nicest food we

had on our trip to Durham. There obviously hasnt been a penny spared in

its construction. We look forward to returning and will be letting

everyone know about it in the meantime.A hidden gem!!!!

Hi Gabio,

This must be one that I have missed, but it certainly sounds like a place to visit...

I'll be checking it out the next time I am 'Home'.. (home being Durham),
