Is the Isle of Man a duty free destination?

Just wondering if the Isle of Man is a duty free destination? If not, are prices lower that U.K. mainland prices? With sterling lower against the Euro it might be nice to combine a short break with the opportunity of stocking up with lower priced goods.

Sorry, the Isle of Man is not a duty free place, it is the same as the UK

Prices in the Isle of Man tend to be slightly higher than on the mainland UK - to be expected I suppose given that practically everything has to be imported. However, while it is not exactly the place to go "stocking up" it is still worth a visit.

There are some folk would disagree with the last part of that..

IOM 'enjoys' a common purse agreement with UK. This earns a fair bit of xcise rebate back to Manx Treasury. So keep on spending your pounds in UK on fags, booze and petrol and we get a shareof it and save on not employing Customs folk. Win win.

But 'duty free' apart, it's a great destination for those who seek countryside and quiet. Come on over.
