Depends on what you are looking for. Douglas is full of your typical small town pubs and clubs and most of them are pretty much of a muchness (except Quids Inn as mentioned above).

For a slightly more sureal but much more entertaining night out, head over to Peel on the West coast. Loads of traditional old pubs, always packed on a Friday and Saturday night and there is generally something going on. You can always pre-book a multi-seater taxi back into Douglas to head to a club later on if you must.

Everyone seems to head to Colours, a night-club under the Hilton Hotel on Douglas Prom nowadays. I don't see the attraction myself, but it's where everyone goes so that's where all the action is. The other main place and with a slightly more alternative feel to it, is the Outback. Usually a bit more rock than pop and they do loads of shooters and stuff. Good for a stag do.

Oh, and If you are sticking to Douglas then, as well as Quids Inn, you have to go to the Rovers. It's owned by the Bushy's brewery (local one) and has a live band room downstairs. The people in there can look a bit freaky at first but it's where you'll find the real manx life and proper music.

And if you are heading out in Douglas, you'll stuggle to get in most places where jeans or trainers!
