can you tell me a good hotel that we could stay at that is central to the festival as the wlfe cannot walk very far
is pickering mainly flat not
Is Pickering mainly flat? There is not a lot of Pickering and one main hill! The Market Place itself is on a slope but is not too bad. At the top of it is a hill up to the castle which is steeper and could well present a problem for someone with limited mobility. Eastgate,Hungate and Westgate form the A170 going through town and they are flat. How far can your wife walk? Is she OK on the flat?
Alternative hotels on the main road (parallel to Market Place where the music is) include the Forest &Vale and The Crossways. The are about 5mins from the Market Place but can be accessed on the flat by a snicket.
she is ok for a hundred yards or so if its not to windy or cold as she suffers from chest infections. we would love to go to the 60s festival as its our kind of music we used to go to the 60s at the grand at scarborough until the place went downhill afew years ago
No 17 is lovely but up the hill. All have parking so you can park the car and leave it for the weekend as parking can be very difficult. The KirK Theatre is just behind the Market Place on the A170 for the Friday evening concert.
we are going to have drive down on thursday to have a look round. is there anywhere else in yorkshire that has 60s bands on
The "Sensational 60s Experience" show will be touring in the autumn for their 50th anniversary and reach Newcastle on 8th Nov:
(I've seen them on an earlier tour and it was a good night for the mother-in-law)
went to see the 60 show last year steve ellis marmalade and chris farlow were on it was a really good show and we had booked to see david gests legends of soul but the show was cancelled
