Travelodge

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Morecambe travelodge, and must say it was quite a surprise. It has only been open a few weeks, but was well impressed. Nice spacious room with flat screen tv,shower room rather than bath, but the shower was very good, only downside nowhere to put shower gel/shampoo.

Found an excellent little cafe 50 metres away for breakfast, called Mews Coffee Shop, reasonable prices and good quality food,in the plaza shopping mall, next to pedder street car park, well worth a visit.

I realise that this is an old thread, but just thought I'd say...

Whenever we visit the area we stay at Lancaster Central Travelodge, which is much better located than the one in Morecambe. Last stay was for recently for 6 nights (11-16 September.

No on-site parking at either Lancaster or Morecambe, but at least with the Lancaster Travelodge you are in the centre of town.

It's a very pleasant place to stay especially if you've got a room on the 3rd or 4th Floor where you'll get great views over the roof-tops to Lancaster Castle, or the Williamson Memorial, or out toward the Lune Valley.

Give the 'packed' breakfast a miss, and nip next door to Wetherspoons (Sir Richard Owen).

Lancaster is a lovely town, and it's easy to get down to Morecambe by train. Takes 10 minutes @ £3.20 for a day return. The bus takes about 20 minutes @4.60 return, the No.3 or 4 is the better bus service at it takes you all the way along the prom after hitting it at the Bare end.
