Need help choosing resort

Hi, my husband and I vacation a couple times every year and have been to Mexico and Dominican Republic many times. We are looking for somewhere diff for our next vacation. We typically stay in adults only all inclusive resorts. (4-5 star with a beautiful walking beach) any suggestions from anyone would be much appreciated. I've been doing a lot of research and haven't found the spot yet.

If you are looking for a walking beach that might be tough. Most beaches are fairly short. Longest one in a tourist area is Rodney Bay (aka Reduit Beach). As far as adults only all inclusive resorts there are 4 choices: the 3 Sandals and Rendezvous. There are others that may have only a few children but true adults only are the 4 above. You may also wish to look at Le Sport where you are very unlikely to have children under the age of 16 as they are not allowed.

There are no AO/AI resorts in St. Lucia that can compare to those in MX or DR - we do not have resorts on those scales, nor do we have beaches that compare in length, nor do any compare in inclusions or amenities, etc. Our largest AI (Sandals) is about 300 rooms - that is considered boutique in MX/DR! We visit Palace Resorts in Cancun/Riviera Maya at least twice a year, I know from where I speak!

The only AI that includes room service are the butler level rooms at the Sandals resorts (concierge at the Grande does have RS). Otherwise, none have room service. Much smaller properties overall, not as many entertainment options, etc.

That said - the resorts here have other pros. Personal service, more opportunities to meet others, and proximity to a wide array of options off property.

The island is very different in character than MX/DR. It begs to be explored! The Pitons, waterfalls, plantation tours, volcano/mud baths, mineral baths, hiking, ziplining, snorkeling, diving, ATVing, horseback riding, Segway tours, casino, and more - all in a small, safe island to experience.

Consider looking in the Soufriere region at some of the resorts there also - beautiful luxury properties with stunning views, proximity to the islands sights and activities, and most offer an AI add on.

If you are adament about sticking with AO/AIs, the Sandals & Rendezvous are your main options. LeSport is an option, as they don't allow under 16 (except a few months in high summer, when they allow 12 and up).

Rendezvous is our favorite: beautiful grounds, great pools, long (for the island) stretch of beach, excellent dining and super service. LeSport is our second choice, sister property to Rendezvous - you can visit between the 2-, great service, loads of activities, included 1 hour spa treatment per person per day, great food, nice beach with a bit of snorkeling and so on. Never had to play the towel game at either one!

Sandals are fun, the 3 different resorts have different strengths; for beach, you want the Grande. They have Stay at 1,Play at all 3 and provide transportation between the resorts - a nice bonus.

Good luck - lots of options all around the island!!
