Hey there

Anybody who went to the Casa Ombuto Cooking Course .....?

Please advice (give tips) what to do with your free time in the mornings before cooking classes starts.

We are going in May 2012.

Suriz, are you with Zurita? Find out what the schedule is first at Casa Ombuto - I know they plan lots of small day trips for you. For example you go to an olive oil mill, a goat cheese farm, and a winery/olive farm.

The big question will also be whether you have a car or not. The area where you are staying is fairly remote and without a car it is difficult to get around. Some nice places to visit are of course, Arezzo, then there is Anghiari, Sansepolcro, Poppi itself, La Verna (where St. Francis of Assisi would walk to and had his stigmata), and Cortona. You will need a full free day to visit Florence. Perhaps Uncgal can weigh in here with what she did for an Itinerary and what time was available to her. Or perhaps you can PM her.

Are you interested in art? Arezzo has the great frescoes of the Renaissance artist Piero della Francesca.
