We (two couples, experienced travelers) are traveling by car and are interested in seeing some of the interior of Sicily in additon to the coastal circumnavigation of the island, which we are doing ultimately. Just wondering if you can offer insight into a route through Madonie and Nebrodi mountains to Taromina, or if the coastal route (autostrada) is more rewarding. We enjoy getting off the beaten the path but wonder if it would take more than a day to navigate the mountain roads. WE are traveling April 21 to Taromina. from Cefalu. Thanks for your guidance.
We are also visiting Siracusa, Ragussa, Agrigento, Marsala, Erice, Palermo in 13 days.
