Trapani to Cefalu by public transport

We are planning a trip to Sicily in September. We would like to base ourselves in Cefalu, but our flight arrives into Trapani Airport late in the evening, so we expect to spend at least 1 night in Trapani. We would prefer not to hire a car for our whole stay, so would appreciate advice on getting to Cefalu using public transport. Is it also possible to visit Erice by public transport (day trip from Trapani)?

You can get a public coach/bus service from the centre of Trapani to Palermo Centrale station, I think it takes about 90 minutes, then you can get a train to Cefalu once you are in Palermo.

Take interbus from Trapani to Palermo


And then train or SAIS bus from Palermo to Cefalù

Welcome to Sicily Indietravel!

Rather than spend your first night in Trapani, take the direct Terravision/Salemi bus service from Trapani to Birgi to better position for your first full day and arrival in Cefalù .
