Shopping

My friends and I have arrived in Ferrara staying for a month. We are looking for the closest fresh produce and fish markets. At the moment making do with mini supermarkets but cannot find markets like we found in Sicily and perugia

Get to Comacchio, visit the town with its bridges, the old salt warehouses and buy farm eels.

Ask to the locals where city markets are.

Here in Ferrara we don't have large markets. But for very quality vegetables and fruit you can shop in Via Giuseppe Garibaldi n. 1 if you're in the centre. Google street view: http://goo.gl/maps/XU86s

For very good and quality fish you can shop at a store in via Fortezza, 26, it's like a metal box in the street and it's known for selling the best fresh fish in Ferrara. Google street view: http://goo.gl/maps/3nNWk

If you have a car you can go to a larger supermarket called "Interspar" in via Pomposa and you can find good quality fresh fish and good vegetables too. Google street view: http://goo.gl/maps/qarvh

You can find good shops here, a bakery, a greengrocery and a butcher: http://goo.gl/maps/Aon0n

For big fresh and quality produce markets you have to go to Ravenna or Modena. But there's nothing you cannot find here in little shops.
