English Speaking Hotel

Posted on here last year for Sangro River Cemetary. Have decided to stay this side of the country this year so that we can finally make the visit.

Please I am ashamed to admit that we have no Italian between us so will need a hotel that is English Speaking at least the basics.

Anything else you think we may need to know would be lovely.

Thanks in advance.

Glad to hear that you'll be coming to Abruzzo this year, we're sure that you'll love it.

Don't be ashamed about not speaking Italian, it's not a crime! However, English isn't widely spoken in this part of the world, although you'll have a better chance of finding a hotel with English speaking staff, in the larger places such as Pescara or Chieti. It will be hit or miss though and you might be better to send an email to a few places you like the look of and see what response you get.

You'll normally find someone around who has some grasp of English, usually youngsters who now take English in school and want to practice! Failing that, try and learn a few phrases before you arrive and bring a phrase book. You'll be amazed at how well you can communicate with a few words, a lot of signage and the odd noise! It makes it all the more fun.

If there is anything else you'd like to know, please just ask away.

Thank you for your response, Will do as you suggest & contact a few hotels that have some U.K. /U.S.A Reviews & maybe a few TA's will chip in to.

We have always liked going a little off the beaten track so will carry on and see what comes up.

Failing that an i phone app will be our language helper.

Regards Paula
